Poppy Day Drive
Comrades, we need your help and support of our main fundraising activity. Our annual Buddy Poppy Day drive will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday Mary 1st, 2nd and 3rd of 2020. We need members to participate in this event to reduce the amount of shifts that members will have on each of these days. We are asking for each Comrade to volunteer for one (1) two hour shift at a single location.
If there are enough Comrades to sign up then we only need to take a single shift each. Come out and join your fellow Comrades and have fun! This is a great way to meet potential new members and share the camaraderie that we all enjoy when we are around each other. Please contact Comrade Judge Advocate Joe Mendez at: email@example.com and let him know what shift you would like and at what location. There are plenty of shifts still open.
Chalfont VFW Post 3258 wins National Membership Challenge and a trip to the VFW National Legislative Conference in Washington D.C.
On March 2nd 2020, Post Commander John Otte and Post Judge Advocate Joe Mendez accept a Certificate of Appreciation from VFW National Commander-in-Chief William "Doc" Schmitz for outstanding efforts in recruiting new members into the post. Post 3258 received an invitation to the National Legislative Conference in Washington D.C. for an opportunity to meet with federal legislatures about the VFW's 2020 top priorities and focus.
The annual event titled "Storm the Hill" was jam-packed with National Council of Administration meetings and a session whereby the National Commander-In-Chief testified before a congressional panel to lobby them on the VFW's mission both now and in the future.
Commander Otte also received a stipend check in the amount of $1,000.00 to cover the costs of the trip. Commander Otte strongly believed that this money belonged to the post and donated that money into the post treasury. Our post continues to lead the way in membership and other key areas to fulfill our 120-Year mission of taking care of veterans. Congratulations to the post for winning this high national honor.
